and i thought…

thinking and behavioural pattern of an individual solely depend on the surrounding that they grew. decision making, conversational skills, religious belief, manners and etiquettes are closely bounded to upbringing of their parents/guardian and also linked to the growing environment.
images
thinking as such, living in the computer era certainly brings in some modern changes in life style and thinking. fast trains, hi-tech phones, cutting edge technology in nearly everything, simplified and computerized lifestyle and fast mode of transportation tele-ports our current pace to whole new level. imagine, we are talking about NEW ERA, NEW LEVEL..
AND I THOUGHT, so do the people around me and everywhere. i thought these fast moving world changed the orthodox practices and beliefs amongst us (referring to Indians). rituals and taboos that are created for some specific purposes back then still being followed ‘blindly’/’sincerely’ by some people.
i am specifically talking about exorcism practises and  transcendental beliefs among the indians. we believe that God as well as devils/ghost have the power to possess human for some purposes (or mights be trivial too). we also believe in some rituals and practices that can ward off evil spirits from disturbing us. not only Indian but most cultures have this beliefs that being spread from generation to generation. i discovered some fascinating outcomes from my Cultural Anthropology project last semester. my group and i did a small poll and research on the rituals and perspective on the title: “TRANSCENDENTAL AND SPIRITUAL ENTITIES ACCORDING TO HINDUISM AND INDIAN PRACTICES”
those finding really opened my eyes where people still depend on some alternative/traditional rituals for medicinal purposes, exorcism, soothsaying and so on. to some extremes, people depend on their life in black magic and evil deeds.
some of our findings through online survey:
*non-uniform sizing. sorry!
12345678910

the survey was conducted online where most of the respondents are Indian teenagers (online users/surfers). that clearly shows the mind set of nowadays people who still have undivided believes in some customs and beliefs that post some effects in our daily life. most belief that spiritual entities (good or bad) do exist and it aids us to some aforementioned purposes (blackmagic removal etc.). that also clearly shows that, younger generation do abide some regulations/taboos that are told verbally by our ancestors/elderly mastermind.
nothing to be commented on the rationality of the belief as it deals with self assessment on the spiritual and mystical entities that paranormally exist. but what shocks me is some trivial practices that does not make sense to my conscious thinking. practices like animal slaughtering, offerings, existence of entities, nailing pins on tree, on-fire-walking, body piercing, and so on. some do have their meaning and it is expected for the persona to know the meaning of each ritual. but it is now transformed into whole new different understanding that degrades the social respect and status among the community.
confused? to cut in short, this is my view on rituals and practices of any sort : question each practice that your elderly ask to do. in my opinion, each has a reason that worth to be known.

NeBuLoUs

The quest for certainty blocks the search for meaning. Uncertainty is the very condition to impel man to unfold his powers.”

-Erich Fromm-

Human rules the world. Ultimate being above all creature. nothing stops us. we came, we rule. very egoistic ideology but that's the practical truth. however, no matter how knowledgeable we are, we still cannot question or answer certain issues.

to name a few : how solid planets wander in dust-filled Milky way, alien existence, origin of religion, beyond Andromeda, Orion's Belt, the Placebo effect, time travel, human spiritual needs, Fibonacci order in flower and leaves arrangement, origins of earthly forces (electromagnetism, gravity etc), how lightning travel and sparks, meditation power,  and whole lot more crazy stuff unexplained.

living in uncertain world we tend to try explain things around us. thats how science theories, religous views and so on started. but when you claim you are certain about something, the idea of reality, practicality and the truth is being overpowered. no effort is being put forth to dig the real situation, this idea works well for the belief we have about God, mystical stuff and certain science theories.

living in vague world makes magic out of norm. it supports certain doctrines which drives people to do good (and also bad things). it also satisfies our curiosity of "why/how stuff happening?"-temporarily. moreover, it magically makes world keep on going. imagine living your life on a wrong idea but in a right way! confusing right?

we need to understand we are in vague world. full of mysteries and questions. but people do tend to argue that they are totally right. what makes them right and confident? it all happening in this crappy funny world.
"living the truth is hard. living in lies is filthy. which goes to which is up to our conscious thinking and acceptability."
- vijendran -

one of my favorite drawing. quick depiction of realty and pain you have to go through to get to reality. the persona is willingly sacrificing himself to reach total consciousness. his soul is catapulting to heaven/almighty (star) and his dust is being carried by wind. metaphorically illustrated was the concept of Hinduism about the end of life.

ஆசை || Aasai - my 1st published tamil poem

this one is my very first attempt on tamil poem. well, not dare to call it a Tamil poem yet, but i tried to scribble something in my mother tongue. million thanks to Thivyashini Tamilvanan and Sparky (anonymous on net) for their guidance.

what is it like when you have the feeling of anxiety and depressed and yet convincing yourself you are in good, lucky condition. how irony is that. it is very hard to smile in times you lost your loved ones. it is very hard too to say 'im very healthy/im very fine' when your life is in total mess. sometimes we neeed to console ourselves that we are in good condition eventhough thats not the case.
any mistake in grammar or spelling do comment. ]

Four Noble Truth & Eight Righteous Path

One of the religion that never fail to impress me is Buddhism. Being pragmatic and implementable in nature, the idea of buddhism doesnt involve polytheism and piety to god. Siddharta Gautama highlighted ways for people to live without pain and suffering simply by observing the things around as the way it is.

To simplify Buddhism in understandable language; there two main things to look at, or simply the ones that i agreed upon and fascinated about. Its called The Four Noble Truth and The Eightfold Path. The Noble Truth explains reality and simply states how things are in living world without the concept of fantasy and perfection. It is the unfortunate and the part of life that we wouldn't want to hear - suffering. Now to avoid suffering, there are 8 rules to follow a.k.a. The Eightfold Path.

The Four Noble truth are :

  • Life is Frustrating and Painful

  • Every Suffering has a Cause

  • Cause of the Suffering scan be ended

  • Way to end the Suffering (meditation - which more to practice of awareness and self realisation)
These awful, unbearable and unfortunate truths has its own reality when it comes to modern living. So accepting the fact of Four Noble Truth is essential. To overcome the Suffering :

  1. Thinking from the RIGHT view - wrong views indulge us in expectations onto things. right view is the way of seeing a thing as it is in nature. it helps to think straight and accommodate attitude. Ex. an apple IS AN APPLE,  not a crispy sweet caramelly, apple pie.

  2. The Right Intention - from right view, abandon expectation, fears and hope. That makes us no more able to be manipulated by earthly temptations and needs. no hard work and frustration onto things and accept the truth of stuff around as they are.

  3. Right speech - once our intentions are pure, our conversation would not carry any abusive or low panache or bluff about things. we say what need to be conveyed.

  4. Right discipline - follow idea of simplicity, hence no complication of thinking.

  5. Right livelihood - accept the idea of your undertakings such as job, responsibilities and enjoy living with it.

  6. Right effort - often viewed as smart thinking, right effort means seeing things as they are, ability to work with em without a nudge and avoid any complication and aggression.

  7. Right mindfulness - clarity and awareness in your responsibilities.Performing the right attitude in our action.

  8. Right concentration - defined as absorbing things as they are (example of the apple), that is think, digest and understand the things as they are now without any desire, need, expectation and craving interfering into our judgement.

Buddhists digest these 4 and 8 lines by meditating and lead a simple life; a life style that all of us need to live and think. Core of Buddhism isnt in the rituals and hymns but its in the way of you leading your life and thinking. Religions have lots of ideas to impose, and Buddhism and Buddha never fails to lead me in life nor in thinking ; self realisation is the key to mental consciousness.

The Relentless Prayer

not blogging for one whole month makes my fingers numb to type! my little toughts whilst having pressured week with works :)

"HE who planted the seeds shall water it too... "

the pious, the obidient and the follower (of religion) would understand the above as a way of God showering His love to us where in times of adversity, He will show us the way to overcome it. all solutions to problems that seem to be far away, He would show us the way EVERYTIME we make something wrong. in such case, "the one planted seed" and "the one water the seeds" are not the same where we started every  problem and expecting Almighty for solution.

my point is, not all the time the illusion of God is persistent whenever theres a problem. we as human; the one who started basically everything MUST answer to all of our deeds. it must start from somewhat a strong mental and deep art of thinking. likewise The Third Eyed One as illustrated, the visual eyes are closed yet the awakening of enlightment is always open. That what resembles in Shiva, the dweller of universe with his furious and divine deportment, in dancing all His way in every spot in universe.

we assume that there is a religion, there is a teaching, there is a path to fulfill our destiny and spiritual consciousness (or we wanted it to be in a such way). and worst to speak, there are ones who desperately following religion without realising the true meaning behind it. just for a sake of continuing the culture of being born to a practitioner of spesific religion.

one must see religion as rules and guidelines to lead a better life. a set of continous practise that teach us to do the right thing. it is not ULTIMATE and the ONLY way to do it.

- several path leading to mountains (different religion) where one who relentlessly following to pray hard as like blindfolded without realising the truth; where the truth is far from the reality (the star light on right). the illusion of following a religion is not in the religion itself but its in the people who practising it, where following a religion without realising it WILL not led to total concsiousness. -

"Belief is the death of intelligence. As soon as one believes a doctrine of any sort, or assumes certitude, one stops thinking about that aspect of existence."
-Robert Anton Wilson-

My Lost Ones

Life is eternal, and love is immortal, and death is only a horizon; and a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight.
~Rossiter Worthington Raymond~

for once you know that you nudged the one untill yesterday; and for now you knew he is lost. bereavement over a day aint enough for the most love that he/she gave. only confidence you can build over pain of separation is that, he who left the terrestrial is living more healthier than man, more happier than joyful heart. for some the sorrow swallows them slowly, tear them without pity, changing the mind and bringing more silence.

faith that was taught should do the trick for most who last their loved ones where time can heals the bleeding wounds.

a tribute to those who have lived on the face of earth, gathering love of many and showed us the path of living. although you on the other side, you will be remembered; RIP to your loved once.

a day to remember the one you have lost  permanently. indulge.....

a muggy yellow evening
dry breeze over the head
slowly reaching to the dryness of my throat
with a killing pain
hardly sup a drop of saliva
i was told
you stopped living

hey, its going to be twilight!
bright orangy sky
smeared on with fluffy clouds
serene
tranquill
LOOK!
i am seeing the gift of life - but not you
why?
for once and for all there is no dusk for you
cry
standing still yet so fragile
knowing that you already die...

to whom i should voice?
to tell that i have lost you?
heart that was beating
dimmed in the gloomy evenfall
there it was when
the One kept you by side
lost forever

no night darker than this
no deaf is so mute
total blindness
in sulky blanket of darkness
cuddled with queer clouds of thoughts
in there i was thrown away
lit by the black sun
not more than null
in there
i have lost you
cruel silence and perfect void..

for the emptiness you cut
my spine was slowly bladed
bleeding till end of All-Dweller
graceful life slowly fade
apart from you forever
blackness that He spade
i am crying with a little joy
for you whom resides
with the Creator..

~null and void
~~so much sorrow in a little tear

Nikmat Cinta

A sense of warmth upon afternoon rain - thats how to describe sensation of love. Wet, cold and yet feel of pleasant warm deep inside that would sketch a smile on every face. Either at first sight or gradual feeling, it posts some magical spell over people to just get together and feel the warmness in each others hand. Nothing sexual but totally divine sense of passion to embrace the loved ones - truely mesmerizing.  How is the feel of love at its earliest? What is the feeling that urge one to find their love? And what is the feeling if you found one? Near to quenching dry land with droplets of crystal water? Lets get drenched ~~ indulge =D

tak berdarah tak berdaging
yang suatu itu menimpa atas aku
laksana bebutir air melepasi dakapan awan
melangkau batasan langit
meluru jatuh atas bebatuan
terpercik memecah seluruh angkasa
bagai serpihan bintang atas langit malam
begitulah dia datang
menuju diri ini
memenuhi jiwa raga
dengan nafsu cinta

memenuhi mimpi dewa dewi
membawa suruhan kayangan
hanya untuk membasahi diri
dengan cinta sejati
kiriman rahmat dari syurga
utusan rasmi kepada dunia
untuk memenuhi kalbu
mencoret damai dalam fikiran
membawa senyuman
dalam dunia manusia

cinta
seperti yang dibilang sesetengah
bukan derhaka maksud jika ditolak
bukan nanah setelah luka
cinta itu
suatu senyuman dalam jiwa
bak panas dalam sejuk embun
ingatkan senantiasa akan nikmatnya...
dalam kontang tanah
membakar akar sehingga hangit
cinta datang bagai sebutir air
basahi seluruh rekah rekah
lembut jadinya keras keruping
nikmat rahsia ...
seindah seribu putik cendana

bebas dalam sangkar - merdeka?

looking at the free things around makes you feel want to be in the same feeling. natural instinct i would say. two things that all human understand is hunger and freedome. it unites nearly most races to fight for it. beauty of freedome totally lies on the mind of a person. achieving years of independence without free civic sense and open mind-ness amongst the civillians is basically growing uncivilised culture. freedome should be in our mind not in anything else.... indulge.... :D

dalam kelam gua sunyi
tersilau sebintik noktah cahaya
suatu yang memberi nafas
suatu yang memberi harapan
bagai tunjang pohon jauh dalam tanah
suatu bahagia sebegitu rupa

tersilap
disangka noktah itu kuasa
dipermain dipertendang
bagai sampah di hujung jalan
tak rasa
akan nikmatnya
pemberian setelah derita
kurnia setelah duka
suatu yang penuh rahmat

derita kulit kerna api
derita hati kerna dijajahi
diam
dalamnya berang
bagai bara tak berbahang
bagai melahap tak kenyang
sebegitu selamba
erti bangsa
sebegitu kosong
nilai kebebasan

namun kini
masih dalam gua
masih dalam kelam
tak terkeluar
nilai bangsa
bila musykil menjelma
hanya satu jawabnya
oh wahai alam
deritalah kau ini!
sehingga manusia hina dijajahi...

Dia Sebatang Pensel

life aint that tortureful if you are ready to look at it in different perspective. and that is the hardest part. when loneliness strikes a man, the tend to hallucinate or think the 'nonsense'. here, a life diary of a persona who thinks his pencil as his best buddy throughout his adversity.creepy but breaks the silence :D
aku menulis
tanpa titik noktah
tanpa tanda seru
atas lembaran murni
penuh contengan hati
gementar gemuruh
khuatir dan khusyuk
bila dipetir derita
dia jugalah
sekeping tilam
dia jugalah
seutas tasbih
seorang teman
sabar dan setia
dia tahu
saat saat ku menangis
saat saat ku gembira
bagai bebayang yang akur
akan adat cahaya
begitu la si dia
ku memegangnya
melorek cerita sedih
dengan rakus
hilangkan luka hati
lupakan tusukan duri
jika dia tumpul
tak biasa merungut
jika dia patah
tak biasa menangis
setia selalu
bagai ombak di samudra
beralun senantiasa
aku masih menulis
masih tanpa noktah
masih tanpa seru
dengan contengan hati
tapi kawanku itu
tabah mendengar
inti bagai arang
kukuh bagai kayu
tajam bagai damak
buat pensel milikku...
