the bountiful day comes again this year on 14 january 2011. before that boghi (ritual of burning old/useless things to denote throw filthy habit and prosper) kick starts the celebration. wishing all the tamilans out thr a very memorable and prosperous this year could ever be to all of you. PONGGAL NALVAAZHTUKKAL!
punchlist. some engineering term that is used to denote dissatisfaction or failure in models, process design or flow diagram of chemical plant expressed in terms of statements for further studies and rectification. in order to develop a accurate chemical process model or flow diagram, it must mimic the actual plant for subject relevancy and ease of understanding and also to avoid any null/error values in its operating conditions.
(flow diagram is design of deployment of chemical reactors, equipments, pipes, indicators and other materials in form of drawing on paper to notify its operating pressure, temperature and other parameters)
~ what a damn long description for a drawing?? ~
when those accurate design does not meet clients' expectations, it falls under the PUNCHLIST form where it need further studies and rectification. so the engineer-in-charge must fix the problem according to what is asked for. so to cut short, punchlist is set of dissatisfaction (in engineering term).
when i was working close with process and simulation engineers, i found out that the client's have thousands of punchlist that does not satisfy them. omfg! THOUSANDS! to work one of it out, somehow will take from half day to weeks. pheewww!! that made me to ponder. as per say, a client can give hundreds of dissatisfaction against worked model by an engineer, how many trillions of 'punchlist' a.k.a. dissatisfaction that the world can have? a man can have? surely alot..
and assuming, the ULTIMATE ENGINEER a.k.a. God receives punchlists, it will be millions in a DAY. just imagine from food to hunger, shelter to protection, water to nature, safety and wishes etc....
it will be thousands of dissatisfactions/wishes that the god will be receiving.
creepy
im saying this, because a lot of us does not appreciate or at least expect what is satisfactory in our life. we always wants the best, the biggest, the happiest, the expensive of all, whereas at the same time we have our brothers and sisters who do not even have cloths to wear, water to drink or food to eat. there are injustice all over, and what we can ask for is ferrari, Haagen Diasz and Prada to show off? Think Right!
we do not really look around and be thankful of what we have. all of us. even my parents do possess such habit. human nature i guess. but certainly not a good one. once u have cloth to cover your body, permanent shelter, food to cover your hunger and people to make you smile, YOU are one of the luckiest heavenly creatures of earth.all i can say is, we are denying to appreciate life. there is always a mistake and unlucky fate that You think its hunting you; or given/punished by God. but if you look back, ponder about the friends you have, food you ate, love you got, you can feel tonnes time safer and thankful than these pitiful babies and inhabitants of earth.
~let us take this split moment to remember and learn something from those who lost their life for poverty, hunger, and unbearable injustice in world~
silent prayers to your heart, smiles, helping hands and tonnes of 'thanks' to everyone will definitely make your day as lucky as a millionaire. life aint that bad; for those who wana live it like no any other. step out. look around. talk loud. laugh a lot. help about and ponder. you will enjoy life and be thanking almighty for what you had, have and will be having in future.
for what life has to offer, each of us should be grateful and passionate to live this gift.

some abbreviation, some meaning . the short forms are FEW of words that a chemical plant worker should know.
MTBE – methyl tertiary-butyl ether
MRU – Me-OH (methanol) recovery unit
ORU– oxygenate removal unit
CSP– complete saturation process
those are some jargons used in some plants. name of unit/area of certain chemical plant. specifically referring to PolyPropylene Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (PPMSB) and MTBE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (MMSB) chemical production plants. most probably located in kuantan (which i am not sure of). these are the sections of chemical processing plant’s name – which the chemical product generated are polypropylene and metyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE). mtbe used as blending stock in unleaded motor gasoline whereas.
its an one year project in the company that i am working in, Sciensim Sdn. Bhd. which in its completion period (upcoming march 2011). quite busy. quite tensed where the process engineers struggle hard to stimulate and model the plants in 2D and 3D models to calculate necessary details.
maths, equations, chemistry, safety features, environmental issues, programming language, modelling softwares, reaction engineering, separation process, thermodynamics, design of materials, process plant design and chemical dynamics are some of the knowledge that based on the project.
(add the pic of stressful life)
note the word ‘SOME’ in the sentence. nothing complicated. u just need to sleep less, look at lines of programming codes & commands to search for which period or full stop went wrong, study chemical diagrams, go back home late in midnight and some little dedication of extra study. only that. nothing much. normal working engineer on move works such way i guess; at least the one who works in Sciensim doing it in such way.
scaryand kinda shocking . that made me to ponder…
what for so much of scheduled time table? why living in logarithmic life? get too complicated sometimes till you might get stress and tension. perhaps one two exploding nerves
LOL
depending or working under someone/some company till hard for you to get time-out for yourselves is not satisfying at all. worst of all, u could not get the full privilege of being a owner or the Big Boss. that made me to doubt on the choice i took few years ago: why engineering field? hahaha!
whatever it is, life is good and awesome if you want it to be. MTBE, MRU, ORU and CSP are just few of abbreviations from whole engineering literature. there are a lot more to dive, a lot more to see . if there is an adversity of any sort in life, it is just to trim, shape and mould us to a better person. just to put extra twist in boring, flat life adventure. think such way and you will definitely will be smiling at yourself and the choices that you have taken.
extreme crowd and sporting attitude was smearing around whole kl which started from edge selangor itself. lots of people, lots of bevavior. from rude to decent; from pleasant to none. they are there. welcoming twenty-eleven with cheer and wildness. walking through the streets of kl at that time, made me to humm this song, for some unknown reason. ilayaraja song of yedho mogham... indulge <3
weird streets of KL gives you wide range of experience of seeing people. wild, gay, hookers, rude, polite, perverted, scary, gothic, emo, cheerful and et cetera. funny. nice to see alot of people with different character. the best part of all is the ktm experience. chest-to-chest encounter with girls. and they dnt even mind! i realised at a point my crotch was assaulted by hip of a chick! wtf. you get this in kl all the time?
LOL
anyway anyhow, lemme share some photos of my new year experience :
thinking and behavioural pattern of an individual solely depend on the surrounding that they grew. decision making, conversational skills, religious belief, manners and etiquettes are closely bounded to upbringing of their parents/guardian and also linked to the growing environment.
thinking as such, living in the computer era certainly brings in some modern changes in life style and thinking. fast trains, hi-tech phones, cutting edge technology in nearly everything, simplified and computerized lifestyle and fast mode of transportation tele-ports our current pace to whole new level. imagine, we are talking about NEW ERA, NEW LEVEL..
AND I THOUGHT, so do the people around me and everywhere. i thought these fast moving world changed the orthodox practices and beliefs amongst us (referring to Indians). rituals and taboos that are created for some specific purposes back then still being followed ‘blindly’/’sincerely’ by some people.
i am specifically talking about exorcism practises and transcendental beliefs among the indians. we believe that God as well as devils/ghost have the power to possess human for some purposes (or mights be trivial too). we also believe in some rituals and practices that can ward off evil spirits from disturbing us. not only Indian but most cultures have this beliefs that being spread from generation to generation. i discovered some fascinating outcomes from my Cultural Anthropology project last semester. my group and i did a small poll and research on the rituals and perspective on the title: “TRANSCENDENTAL AND SPIRITUAL ENTITIES ACCORDING TO HINDUISM AND INDIAN PRACTICES”
those finding really opened my eyes where people still depend on some alternative/traditional rituals for medicinal purposes, exorcism, soothsaying and so on. to some extremes, people depend on their life in black magic and evil deeds.
some of our findings through online survey:
*non-uniform sizing. sorry!
the survey was conducted online where most of the respondents are Indian teenagers (online users/surfers). that clearly shows the mind set of nowadays people who still have undivided believes in some customs and beliefs that post some effects in our daily life. most belief that spiritual entities (good or bad) do exist and it aids us to some aforementioned purposes (blackmagic removal etc.). that also clearly shows that, younger generation do abide some regulations/taboos that are told verbally by our ancestors/elderly mastermind.
nothing to be commented on the rationality of the belief as it deals with self assessment on the spiritual and mystical entities that paranormally exist. but what shocks me is some trivial practices that does not make sense to my conscious thinking. practices like animal slaughtering, offerings, existence of entities, nailing pins on tree, on-fire-walking, body piercing, and so on. some do have their meaning and it is expected for the persona to know the meaning of each ritual. but it is now transformed into whole new different understanding that degrades the social respect and status among the community.
confused? to cut in short, this is my view on rituals and practices of any sort : question each practice that your elderly ask to do. in my opinion, each has a reason that worth to be known.
life is good environment is good and so do everything!
waiting for my internship period to start is quite nice. catching up with friends n their updates is nice to do during holidays. was listening to this song while was typing out this. one of my fav chix n song in movie Ayan. worth watching.
my free time fillers: drawing. no title no reason and no techniques. just inspirations :D

Human rules the world. Ultimate being above all creature. nothing stops us. we came, we rule. very egoistic ideology but that's the practical truth. however, no matter how knowledgeable we are, we still cannot question or answer certain issues.
to name a few : how solid planets wander in dust-filled Milky way, alien existence, origin of religion, beyond Andromeda, Orion's Belt, the Placebo effect, time travel, human spiritual needs, Fibonacci order in flower and leaves arrangement, origins of earthly forces (electromagnetism, gravity etc), how lightning travel and sparks, meditation power, and whole lot more crazy stuff unexplained.
living in uncertain world we tend to try explain things around us. thats how science theories, religous views and so on started. but when you claim you are certain about something, the idea of reality, practicality and the truth is being overpowered. no effort is being put forth to dig the real situation, this idea works well for the belief we have about God, mystical stuff and certain science theories.
living in vague world makes magic out of norm. it supports certain doctrines which drives people to do good (and also bad things). it also satisfies our curiosity of "why/how stuff happening?"-temporarily. moreover, it magically makes world keep on going. imagine living your life on a wrong idea but in a right way! confusing right?
we need to understand we are in vague world. full of mysteries and questions. but people do tend to argue that they are totally right. what makes them right and confident? it all happening in this crappy funny world.
"living the truth is hard. living in lies is filthy. which goes to which is up to our conscious thinking and acceptability."
- vijendran -
one of my favorite drawing. quick depiction of realty and pain you have to go through to get to reality. the persona is willingly sacrificing himself to reach total consciousness. his soul is catapulting to heaven/almighty (star) and his dust is being carried by wind. metaphorically illustrated was the concept of Hinduism about the end of life.
this one is my very first attempt on tamil poem. well, not dare to call it a Tamil poem yet, but i tried to scribble something in my mother tongue. million thanks to Thivyashini Tamilvanan and Sparky (anonymous on net) for their guidance.
what is it like when you have the feeling of anxiety and depressed and yet convincing yourself you are in good, lucky condition. how irony is that. it is very hard to smile in times you lost your loved ones. it is very hard too to say 'im very healthy/im very fine' when your life is in total mess. sometimes we neeed to console ourselves that we are in good condition eventhough thats not the case.

One of the religion that never fail to impress me is Buddhism. Being pragmatic and implementable in nature, the idea of buddhism doesnt involve polytheism and piety to god. Siddharta Gautama highlighted ways for people to live without pain and suffering simply by observing the things around as the way it is.
To simplify Buddhism in understandable language; there two main things to look at, or simply the ones that i agreed upon and fascinated about. Its called The Four Noble Truth and The Eightfold Path. The Noble Truth explains reality and simply states how things are in living world without the concept of fantasy and perfection. It is the unfortunate and the part of life that we wouldn't want to hear - suffering. Now to avoid suffering, there are 8 rules to follow a.k.a. The Eightfold Path.
The Four Noble truth are :
Life is Frustrating and Painful
Every Suffering has a Cause
Cause of the Suffering scan be ended
Way to end the Suffering (meditation - which more to practice of awareness and self realisation)
These awful, unbearable and unfortunate truths has its own reality when it comes to modern living. So accepting the fact of Four Noble Truth is essential. To overcome the Suffering :
Thinking from the RIGHT view- wrong views indulge us in expectations onto things. right view is the way of seeing a thing as it is in nature. it helps to think straight and accommodate attitude. Ex. an apple IS AN APPLE, not a crispy sweet caramelly, apple pie.
The Right Intention - from right view, abandon expectation, fears and hope. That makes us no more able to be manipulated by earthly temptations and needs. no hard work and frustration onto things and accept the truth of stuff around as they are.
Right speech - once our intentions are pure, our conversation would not carry any abusive or low panache or bluff about things. we say what need to be conveyed.
Right discipline - follow idea of simplicity, hence no complication of thinking.
Right livelihood - accept the idea of your undertakings such as job, responsibilities and enjoy living with it.
Right effort - often viewed as smart thinking, right effort means seeing things as they are, ability to work with em without a nudge and avoid any complication and aggression.
Right mindfulness - clarity and awareness in your responsibilities.Performing the right attitude in our action.
Right concentration- defined as absorbing things as they are (example of the apple), that is think, digest and understand the things as they are now without any desire, need, expectation and craving interfering into our judgement.
Buddhists digest these 4 and 8 lines by meditating and lead a simple life; a life style that all of us need to live and think. Core of Buddhism isnt in the rituals and hymns but its in the way of you leading your life and thinking. Religions have lots of ideas to impose, and Buddhism and Buddha never fails to lead me in life nor in thinking ; self realisation is the key to mental consciousness.
